Recreational Marijuana Regulations - Public Forum

-A A +A

Recreational marijuana is coming to Massachusetts, and Athol needs to prepare for this new industry from zoning, regulatory and monetary perspectives.

The Board of Planning and Community Development will host a public forum concerning the new law and to gain feedback for potential regulatory controls on Thursday, November 16 at 7pm in Memorial Hall (Town Hall), 584 Main Street.

Because the state can license recreational marijuana dispensing sites as soon as April 2018, the Town is seeking to develop appropriate local controls for a special town meeting to be held in early 2018.  Further, the Town Manager formed a working group of key staff and members of the planning, health, finance and select boards to expedite and guide the process.
