ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
The Town of Athol seeks a motivated professional to serve as its Assistant Superintendent of Public Works. This is an advanced administrative and professional position responsible to assist in the overall direction, administration, management and operations of the Dept. of Public Works including highway, water, wastewater, cemetery, park, tree and transfer station divisions.
Requires strong knowledge of public works construction, water and wastewater treatment, building maintenance, civil engineering, environmental management, project inspection, personnel management and business management. Budget and public procurement experience highly preferred. Valid driver’s license, computer experience (Word and Excel), plan reading, record-keeping, plan and report preparation skills required. Preference given to candidates with ten or more years of progressively more responsible experience and a minimum of five years in a supervisory capacity. Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Starting salary range $80,133 to $87,563 DOQE.
