The Athol Board of Selectmen will conduct a Public Hearing concerning its FY 2022/23 application for Massachusetts Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 7:10PM in Room 21, the Selectmen’s Meeting Room, at Athol Town Hall, 584 Main Street. (Snow date: February 21, 2023, 7:10PM, same location).

The Town’s FY 2022/23 Community Development Block Grant application for up to $1,350,000 will be discussed. Infrastructure improvements are proposed for an area focused on Canal Street (from Main Street to South Street) and Lumber Street. If awarded, the Town of Athol will contract with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission for grant administration and project management services to supplement existing Town staff.

Athol residents and representatives of organizations serving Athol are encouraged to attend.  All persons with questions or comments regarding the grant application will have an opportunity to be heard. Written comments may be submitted to Eric Smith, Director of Planning & Development, 584 Main Street, Athol, MA 01331 or at esmith@townofathol.org. Previous years’ CDBG projects may be discussed. The Town will make reasonable accommodation with seven days’ prior written notice to the Selectmen’s office.
