The Town of Athol seeks applicants for a temporary, full-time (37 hours) assistant to the Tax Collector.   Assists the Collector in the performance of clerical, administrative and skilled accounting work.  Primary duties include collection of monies due to the Town, daily reconciliation of receipts, posting of payments received over the counter and online, staffing customer service window, answering phones, processing mail and municipal lien requests and other related duties.

High school diploma required, experience in a business office (municipal collection experience highly preferred) and handling cash handling with daily reconciliation, self-motivation and the ability to be bonded.  The hourly range is:  $17.41 to $19.02 DOQE.   The initial term of appointment shall be not less than 45 days.
